As many of you know, our whole house is in disarray from renovations. There are walls torn down, stone being laid, dust everywhere, & decor & furniture absolutely everywhere due to each room being flipped. Nothing really makes sense. It truly is exciting to be starting these big renovations that we have dreamed of for the past 7 years, but I do miss having a pretty area in the home so I have been cozying up tiny corners to be creative with, cozy up our home where we can, & of course to share with you guys. Today I worked on a tiny area in the front of the house by our front doors & created a super simple cozy summer entryway with some garden terrain finds…
I get asked a lot about our aged terracotta pots that are authentically old & so I was THRILLED to find some new terracotta pots at Terrain that look old. I got them in the old gray & original terracotta finish & just styled the terracotta here to show you. I also got some exciting things for the garden & of course since it’s still snowing in May here in Michigan, let’s have fun with them in here first…
I got some some obelisks & some garden trellis for the greenhouse & garden when the weather finally turns. For the rest of the space the shelf, baskets, books, pots, flower frogs, hats, brass scissors, & more are all second hand & antique finds. That calendar is a small shop find from Carleigh Courey designs. Mixing new finds with old finds is ALWAYS my favorite & it’s always the perfect equation to a cozy spot no matter how big in your home. Even if it’s a tiny corner surrounded by a mess, you can make a cozy entryway with some simple antique finds.
Some things to look for when you are antiquing next time to create a cozy entryway:
-antique desk, table, baskets for an anchor
-antique chair or bench for seating
-antique shelves, hooks, coat racks for storage
-antique garden finds like planters, tools, and ornamental items
