Today’s Monday Mood Board is inspired by my real life bedroom. It’s a work in progress, so I will call it my collected cottage bedroom mood board! Many of you have let me know that you love the idea of focusing on a mood for your home! It is truly my favorite way to create home because you don’t have to follow any rules. It can be so personal and meaningful to how you want your home to feel.
This mood board features pieces that are the exact items I own, and a few that are similar. Many of the pieces in my “mood board” are things I already had when I moved here. But when I put them together with a few new accessories and fabrics it began to take shape as this new mood! This method gives you a collected look. You can begin with what you already have and get the “thrill of the hunt” to find what you want to add along the way.
If this look and mood inspires you for your home, you could start with these same elements! You might have similar things you already own or can find (like a dresser that is or could be painted dark or a white bookcase, a wood bed). Or if you’re starting from scratch, look for these (or similar) elements and add in your own personal touches to create a room with this mood.
See this mood board come to life in photos in this post about my bedroom!
